#mymasstakeaway “Today I have come to set the earth on fire, 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and how I wish it were already blazing! “- Luke 12:49 ❤️In today’s gospel, Jesus knocks on the door of our hearts. He tells us that he wishes to set our hearts on fire. Our priest today challenged us to live like true disciples. Spread God’s love. Spread it like fire. Allow His tender mercy to purify our intentions, and make our mission always one of love. ❤️God asks us to put out the welcome sign at the doors of our hearts. Accept people who “stop by”- either at your door, by text, or Facebook. Listen to their heart and offer them friendship. Be willing to give of your time. ❤️Make your heart a place of hospitality where people feel cared for and appreciated. ❤️ You don’t have to have a “perfect house” to make people feel at home. We don’t have to “have everything together” to offer love and support. We know that our life here on earth is one of trials, mistakes, sinfulness, and suffering. However, we also know that, with the saints, we are the body of Christ. We are His hands and feet. He needs us and uses us to spread His love. ❤️ The other day I had to stop at a local gas station to get the air in my tire filled. As I pulled up and tried to use the machine I realized it wasn’t working. Rather quickly another car pulled up beside mine to fill his tire as well. I rolled down my window and let him know that the machine was broken. Rather frustrated, he pointed to his passenger rear tire to show me a complete flat. “I don’t know what I’m gonna do, “he said. “Well why don’t you run in and see if they have “fix a flat” if they don’t, I will drive to the gas station down the road and purchase one for you, “ I said.After a few minutes he came out and gave me $20 to purchase the item for him down the road. When I returned, he said “wow I can’t believe you would do something like this?”I said “Well, God wanted me here to help you.” “God bless you,” he shouted as my girls and I walked in to get a few treats. ❤️ Later that night, I was reflecting on that event. God gives us countless opportunities to be love to a stranger. Every time we step out in service, we bring His Love to this world. 🔥

Each day is a gift. We awake with an opportunity to choose: do we preach love, joy and hope in Jesus? Or do we allow negativity, judgment, and hurt to fall from our lips? God wants more from us. ❤️Can He count on you?

🙌🏽I’m a stubborn child. How many times will trials and tribulations occur while I thrash about and ask Him why? ....Only to praise Him for the gifts that flow from my Trust growing, my heart expanding. How many times have I wrote down my prayers and petitions?.... only to go back months later in thanksgiving, praising Him for the way He took such care to love me and answer my pleas. Countless times He has earned my Trust, reassured me of who I am and how loved I am. 🙌🏽It’s always been Him. Countless tears on my bed in high school asking my Heavenly Father for comfort. Holding my husband’s hand during his battle with encephalitis, begging for the grace to undergo this trial 9 months pregnant. Praying for the surgery and recovery of loved ones. Begging for God to help me change my heart, to love deeper. 🙌🏽It’s always been you and I, Lord. Only you can truly understand. Only you can feel my fear, my pain. Trusting you and your delicate care for my heart and soul has always led me to happiness. You alone can calm my restless heart. Relieve the fears and struggles that seek to destroy my peace. 🙌🏽Time and time again, this weak and hurting child has crawled up on my Father’s lap and found consolation. 🙌🏽People will fail you. Family will hurt you. Finances will strain you. Jobs will challenge your self worth and drain you. Critics will pick at your weaknesses and leave you feeling exposed. This world will try to stifle your joy, put out your light. Crawl up and find peace, Beloved.
